Youth Parliament 2010 is an opportunity for young New Zealanders (16–18 years) to learn about New Zealand’s democracy and influence public decision-making. Youth MPs have the opportunity to debate legislation, sit on select committees and ask parliamentary questions of Cabinet Ministers. It is held every three years and this year will be held on July 6 and 7, 2010.
For further information visit: Youth Parliament 2010 All MPs are receiving applications from interested young people and I would like to make my selection based on a short video clip (no longer than one minute) which can be uploaded directly to my Facebook Page and should be about one of the following key issues affecting youth:
1. Changes to the Licensing of Young Drivers
2. The Environment
3. The MMP Referendum to be held in 2011
Entries will be judged on originality, presentation, and passion.
The last date for submissions is Tuesday 23 March and the winner will be announced via my Facebook page on Thursday 25th.
Good luck and I look forward to viewing your submissions!
